Over the last 29 years, many events have occurred in the development of HIARCS. We are detailing on these pages the events, thoughts, up and downs from the early days of HIARCS all the way up to the present. Please stay with us as we flesh out these pages over the coming weeks. We start the series of articles in the beginning explaining where it all began. That article will take you from 1978, before HIARCS existed even in name, through to 1981 when Mark finished his O-level project HIARCS. The next article follows HIARCS' development into an A-level project, the page is called Now Walking... Both versions from 1981 and 1983 are available in source code and we can unveil a new prize competition to resurrect HIARCS here. As the chronicles reach the time period of each commercial chess product we will be making some of the HIARCS chess software programs available for free download on our Free Chess Software pages. |
