17th World Computer Chess Championship,

Pamplona, Spain, May 2009

HIARCS is competing in the World Computer Chess Championship in Pamplona, Spain.

The hardware we will be using for the tournament is the YOYOTech Chaturanga kindly supplied by www.yoyotech.co.uk  and Intel. This machine contains the Nehalem Core i7 giving 8 physical cores which with hyper threading is capable of supporting 16 logical cores.

We have only had the new hardware for a short time but have been already able to improve the scalability of Hiarcs on 16 logical cores via hyper threading.

Below you can see the first games of the tournament.
